Design Concept
Design of an addition to a heritage-listed eclectic-style building from 1925.
The building includes residential units and ground-floor commercial space and consists of five stories plus a partial rooftop level.
Located near Rothschild Boulevard, between two preserved buildings, it integrates into the broader urban renewal processes along Allenby Street and Rothschild Boulevard.
The addition to the historic structure is composed primarily of a rear extension and three additional floors above the existing building.
In total, the project includes 18 residential units under single ownership.
The building was designed with meticulous attention to details drawn from the architectural language of the period in which the original structure was built, particularly in the reconstruction of the fourth floor, which echoes the design of the third floor- most notably along the Allenby façade.
The fifth and sixth floors were designed in a contemporary style, incorporating elements inspired by the eclectic architecture of the early 20th century, reinterpreted in a modern manner.
The project includes two garden units at the rear façade, each spanning three levels: an illuminated basement, a double-height living level, and an upper bedroom level with balconies overlooking the garden.
Each typical floor contains four residential units - two facing the street in the original architectural style and two at the rear as part of the new addition.
The rooftop level includes a single unit, fully designed down to the smallest detail, featuring exceptionally high-quality finishes.
